Stella

Meet the newest member of our household....Stella. The puppy debate has gone on for several years in our house. Actually, the begging came from Tristyn and the debating came from Mom & Dad. Do we, don't we? When is the right time? Is there a right time? It was a huge decision so we wanted to take our time and make sure we did it right. Several times we'd visit Petland and hold puppies and leave with that longing feeling. We'd browse the Internet for the best family breeds and everyone around us seemed to be happily taking the plunge. Finally over the past 6 weeks it became clear that now was the time for us. Every detail fell together wonderfully and we suprised the girls with her on Sunday afternoon. There was much excitement and a few emotional tears, but all went better than we imagined. (Really, much better because Maelyn has previously had a huge fear of dogs and anything with fur) We dove right into potty training, bouncing, playing, puppy napping, and fighting over who gets to hold, take out, feed, etc. Wonder how long that will last?!?! Stella is adjusting really well to us and we hope that continues as time goes on.

Puppy Stats - Stella is a Morkie, which is a Maltese and Yorkie mix toy breed. She weighs 1 lb 14oz and could literally crawl into one of Troy's shoes. She is black and tan, lighter in her face and is 10 weeks old. She'll likely stay between 6-9 lbs when she's full grown!

We hope to capture some more pictures of her soon but she is really very fast and all I've been able to get is a bunch of furry images as she runs past me. Or been too busy trying to keep the kids from loving the stuffing out of her.
