"Stay here as long as you can...cherish it!"

Remember that scene from Billy Madison when Adam Sandler is shaking the cheeks of the chubby kid and telling him to stay in elementary school as long as possible?   He's on a mission to repeat K-12 in a short amount of time.  He leaves elementary school and moves through the grades and life gets tougher and tougher and he has bad experiences.  He's goes back to visit his elementary friends and they "can't wait to get to high school".  I feel like doing that to our kids every time we get them settled into a new desk, with a new teacher for a new school year. 

This year Tristyn headed out to middle school.  What?!?!  Yes, middle school....it is best described as a crazy quick blink and she became a "tween".  We got her locker all decorated up and she headed off to the land of 8 classes a day and suiting up for gym class.  She is over the moon excited and already dreaming up all the new experiences middle school has to offer her. 

Maelyn is off to first grade where she will perfect her reading and writing skills and be able to participate in the trauma that is learning to eat lunch in record time while dealing with a crazy loud cafeteria.  Thankfully she has an excellent teacher, a great friend seated at the desk right beside her and enough excitement for everyone in her class.

Rylen told us he would like to "go to school with Tistin and Mae Mae", but thankful it's not quite his turn yet!  May take some time to get used to having a quiet house ALL day long with only Mom and Stella to entertain him after a summer filled with big sisters.



Back to school means back to the nap routine...yeah for Mommy!
