It's 4:32am in our little Kaeb house and we hear someone crying in the hallway. Never a good sign, usually means someone is going to end up in our bed or throwing up somewhere on the way. But Daddy goes to investigate and Mommy runs to use the bathroom quick in case we're in for something big. Maelyn is sobbing because she says she's hurt her hand and it's bleeding. Troy finds no blood or trace of an ouchie, but you can't convince Maelyn she's wrong in the daytime much less in the groggy early morning hours. He doesn't even try to argue or reason with her that you usually don't get ouchies laying in your bed sleeping. Instead he runs downstairs and grabs one of those heavy duty, waterproof, strong hold, way too big Band-Aids and slaps that sucker on so everyone can finish their slumber for the next two hours! When he comes back to bed, I ask him what that was all about. He says, "oh, Maelyn's hand is fake bleeding"!
The next morning, she's still handling her hand gingerly as if it's something very serious, even though we know nothing is under the bandaid. Our theory is that she had a bad dream and in her vivid imagination coming to life, she somehow injured her hand in her dream and woke up thinking the whole thing was reality. Now she refuses to remove the bandaid, so we'll see how that one plays out in a few days! We're all (including Tristyn) pretending along with her until the ouchie "heals".

Poor Maelyn! No one believes her. That is so funny. Wish I could have seen it (only that it was later in the day :) ) I love it! -Maggi-
