"Good Night and Big Hail Balls" (we love Wipeout)

We'd been warned of the severe weather heading our way, but had no idea the hailstorm that would hit us - literally. The kids were tucked into bed for the night and the wind was howling and the lightning was pretty amazing. Then started the hail. And it was loud and huge. We thought our windows were going to break from the force of it. After a few minutes of heavy hail, it stopped as quick as it had started. Troy ran out and grabbed this hail ball from the back deck and it's still in our freezer. He let the girls get out of bed to come see it all in the yard. We'd never seen hail that large before. None of our windows were busted, just a few screens were torn up. Several people in our neighborhood had broken windows, smashed shutters and ruined landscape. The cars parked outside didn't look real good either. Thankful today for our garage!
